Cocktail Bar SoolHaus Brings A Taste Of Seoul To Bangkok

Last month saw the opening of Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit in Thailand. Set in Bangkok’s vibrant Asoke neighbourhood, the hotel brings together public spaces by award-winning interior design studio AvroKO, four distinctive dining concepts and city-curated experiences that reflect Bangkok’s layered character and creative energy. The opening represents another milestone in Hilton’s expanding lifestyle portfolio across Asia Pacific.

Across the four restaurants and bars located within the hotel, SoolHaus stands out for its daring design.

With vibrant red, gold, and yellow tones, SoolHaus is a Korean-inspired cocktail bar designed by Bangkok-based Paradigm Shift, drawing inspiration from Koreatown in Bangkok and Korea’s early-1980s postmodern design history.

The interiors pay homage to the Seoul Arts Center, blending modern geometric forms with Hanok-inspired curves, including a ceiling designed to resemble traditional Korean architecture. SoolHaus immerses you in Bangkok’s vibrant urban energy while staying connected to its Korean cultural identity, telling the modern Korean story with nostalgic design elements.

In Korea, a typical night on the town is categorized into rounds, known locally as “cha.” The SoolHaus menu is built around five interchangeable chas, from the first bottle of soju to bright highballs, stronger pours, playful late-night drinks and an alcohol-free final round. Small bites fill the space between chas, offering staple menu items like bulgogi skewers, kimchi pork croquettes and Korean fried chicken.

While modeled in the style of Korea’s swankiest cocktail lounges, SoolHaus is not a themed bar; nor is it attempting to don a costume of Korean drinking culture. As it boasts on its website, “The details point to Seoul. The energy belongs to Bangkok. ”
