Bemons Chair: Bemons is a unique piece of marble chosen from a quarry in Portugal. The seat is crafted from sustainable Siberian faux fur.
Andrew Joseph: Describe your design style as if you were explaining it to someone who cannot see.
Bea Pernia: For someone that cannot see, my style needs to be felt. I would describe my style as timeless and soothing. I like to use a lot of irregular shapes, texture, and curves. My go-to color palette consists of neutral tones and natural materials like stone and wood. My goal is to create an environment that embraces you and transmits harmony, peace, and warmth.
AJ: If you had a superpower, what would it be?
BP: My superpower would be to clone myself at least by 10. There are many different aspects of design I participate in like furniture creation, residential and commercial design, and art. With 24 hours in a day, time management becomes my constant adversary. By cloning myself I would be able to embark on every creative project that comes to my mind instead of having to prioritize other projects.

Beloco Round Table: The Beloco has been created with the purpose of connecting nature’s healing properties to our daily lives. The oak wood top has been embedded in the stone to preserve its natural form.
AJ: What’s your favorite cocktail?
BP: I’m a tequila person. My go-to drink is a Casamigos blanco on the rocks with a splash of lime. It is something simple and refreshing that I can enjoy in any setting.
AJ: What would your dream project or dream client be right now?
BP: At the moment I dream of designing a hotel with everything custom. I want to take on a large-scale project where I can develop a line of furniture for a specific location and theme.

Atus Desk: Adding nature to the workstation, crossing the lines between functionality and design, the Atus desk has been created as a statement piece to be part of your home or office. Incorporating two soft-closing drawers and plenty of top surface space.
AJ: Are you a pet person? Why either way? Dogs or cats?
BP: I have a son named Rufus and he is an XL Goldendoodle. He loves design and being in front of the camera. He has even appeared in Paulina Rubio’s latest music video (Check it out). Rufus is like a teddy bear. He is sweet, fun, and caring. He is always ready to lay by my side after a long day of work.
AJ: Style (or design) icon?
BP: I have used Frank Lloyd’s Falling Water project and his design of the Guggenheim Museum as inspiration for my work. I love the way he uses different materials that are incorporated into nature and the versatility of shapes he uses. Zaha Hadid is also a design inspiration for me. I admire her use of curves and how she can make everything look like it had movement.
About the Maker | Born in Los Angeles and raised in Venezuela, Bea Pernia says her exposure to the diverse natural landscape and timeless architecture of Caracas inspired her approach as a designer “100 percent.”
As the company founder of BEA Designs, Bea expertly applies her artistic sensibility to craft novel, harmonious esthetics that follow her passion for interior and product design. Viewing each project as a unique opportunity to explore fabrics, leather textures, contrasts, shapes and materials in order to realize the vision of her client, she often experiments with natural woods, lush textiles, leather, metal and reflective surfaces. The outcome fuses natural elements with timeless elegance for a look that is at once clean and modern.
