Spanning 200 acres in west Wales’ idyllic countryside, bordered by a wild nature reserve and the river Teifi, fforest offers the ideal location for a rural and remote escape. A veritable ecosystem, the famous farm with a range of accommodation options from traditional Welsh crog lofts, to spacious geodesic domes with Japanese-style onsen outdoor baths, is within striking distance of beautiful beaches and coves, and close by the increasingly popular market town of Cardigan, which is a refuge for creatives.
Purchased by art school graduates James Lynch and Sian Tucker in 2004, what started as a derelict farm now features glamping, several cottages and cabins, a hotel, two restaurants and two pubs. Over the past two decades, the creative couple have perfected a place to enjoy the simplicity, pleasures and beauty of outdoor living in an outstanding natural environment.

“We encourage people to explore their own backyard, appreciate the beauty of our land and slow down a little,” Lynch shares. “We believe we offer something truly unique here at fforest.”

The Farm is the primary site of fforest, home to the bulk of the accommodations as well as the Lodge. At the central hub of the property, guests will find breakfast, along with fforest suppers during the holiday season and for special events.
This month, the Lodge plays host to executive chef Tomos Parry, co-owner of Brat and Mountain restaurants, for a weekend of eating and drinking, indulging and relaxing.

fforest’s winning combination of comfort, cool and community is helping to put nearby Cardigan on the map with the recent opening of The Albion luxury hotel in a former warehouse, the revival of a traditional pub opposite, and the much-loved Pizzatipi riverside pizza restaurant, plus pop-up menus featuring talented local chefs.

On the coast, the duo runs a separate, smaller campsite, offering fully self-catered accommodation ranging from a farmhouse to geodesic domes and cabins, a short walk from the award-winning Penbryn beach. New to the group, The Boy Ashore, in Aberporth is a beach bar and snack shack serving freshly caught lobster rolls, crab sandwiches, fish and chips, accompanied by fforest brewed beers and signature craft cocktails.
