Stepped Plaid And Ladder Stripe

Building on the brand’s twenty-one-year collaboration with Paul Smith, Maharam releases Stepped Plaid and Ladder Stripe. The two upholsteries are the latest to explore Smith’s interest in tailored motifs with exaggerated texture and exuberant color. Slubbed yarns of recycled polyester are combined with fine binder yarn to form a gridded appearance reminiscent of needlepoint embroidery. Stepped Plaid’s dense arrangement of interlocking ribbons of color is Smith’s twist on a traditional plaid.
