Danielle Chiprut founded her namesake studio, Danielle Rose Design Co, in 2019. After a successful career in visual storytelling for retail brands, she felt ready to pursue her lifelong passion for designing interiors. Now, the stories Danielle tells are those of her clients — woven into every detail she thoughtfully curates for their homes. Danielle’s love of design and entrepreneurial spirit are gifts inherited from her parents, along with several heirloom furnishings you will find in her home to this day. Her passion for design transcends genres, instead, prioritizing the individuality of each client. Danielle applies her signature elevated eclectic style to homes across New York state and beyond. When she isn’t transforming family homes, you will find her enjoying her home in Rockville Centre with her husband, Zach, and son, Theo. Andrew Joseph: What inspired you to become a designer?
Danielle Chiprut: My inspiration comes from family and a lifelong love of creating spaces that feel warm and inviting. Growing up, our home was always evolving. My mom was constantly redesigning spaces, and we’d dive into big transformations — reupholstering our sofa in the boldest prints, trying out new colors, and finding ways to infuse personality into our 1950s split-level home. Those experiences taught me early on the joy of personal expression in design, as well as the importance of creating a home that felt uniquely ours.
My dad, with his entrepreneurial spirit, inspired me to build something of my own. As a CPA, he was driven, hard-working, and deeply invested in his career, and I was always motivated by his work ethic and how he took charge to create his own path. From both my parents, I learned that a home should feel both purposeful and personal — where each element serves a role but also resonates with the people who live there.
Over time, I realized my calling was to bring that same sense of beauty, intention and individuality into people’s lives, helping them create spaces that feel like true reflections of themselves. For me, design is about more than aesthetics; it’s about crafting spaces that embody warmth, purpose and a real sense of “home.”
AJ: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received as a designer?
DC: The best advice I’ve received is to be authentically myself — to embrace my unique design style and explore what truly inspires me. Nurturing and developing a personal point of view is essential; it’s what sets you apart and brings depth and originality to your work. When you’re connected to what you genuinely love, it naturally shines through in every design.

AJ: How do you approach a new design project?
DC: I always begin a new design project by diving into the client’s story — learning about their lifestyle, tastes, and day-to-day routines. Understanding how clients truly live in their home is the foundation of great design. I take time to explore what matters most to them, from the flow of their mornings to how they entertain or relax, so that every element feels functional and attuned to their daily life.
Once I have that insight, I start layering in textures, colors and carefully chosen details that reflect their personality and style, viewed through our design lens. It’s these personal touches that bring warmth and character to a space, transforming it from a house into a home. Each piece, pattern, and finish is thoughtfully curated to make the design feel welcoming and distinctly theirs — a space that resonates deeply with who they are and how they aspire to live.
AJ: How do you stay creative and inspired?
DC: I stay creative and inspired through a mix of exploration, connection and everyday observations. Attending markets like High Point is always a boost for my creativity — I’m constantly exposed to new trends, materials and innovative designs that spark fresh ideas. Travel is another huge source of inspiration for me; experiencing different cultures, colors, textures and architectural styles gives me a broader perspective that I love to bring into my work.
I also find inspiration in connecting with the design community, whether it’s collaborating on projects, sharing ideas, or learning from other designers’ unique approaches. And then, of course, there’s the everyday beauty around us. I love discovering unexpected textures, capturing photos of interesting archways, or cataloging inspiring details on my phone that I can reference later. These snapshots of the world help me keep a library of inspiration that fuels my work and keeps my designs feeling fresh and layered.
AJ: Can you tell us about a specific moment in your career that made you feel accomplished?
DC: One of the most memorable moments in my career was the furniture installation for my first full-home gut remodel. This was a project where we designed every detail — every tile, every light fixture, every single piece of furniture was carefully specified to fit the client’s vision. Walking through the completed home and seeing that vision come to life in such a holistic, cohesive way was incredibly special.
Every item felt like it belonged, each piece was beautiful, and the clients were absolutely over the moon. It was a powerful feeling of accomplishment to see the months of planning, creativity, and precision all come together seamlessly. That moment of standing in the finished space, knowing we had created a home that felt both intentional and uniquely theirs, is something I’ll never forget.

AJ: What is your favorite aspect of your job?
DC: For me, there’s so much joy in conceptualizing the story behind each design and mapping out the dream of what we can create together. It’s that moment of inspiration and connection that truly drives my passion for this work.
My favorite aspect of my job is the initial stage of meeting new clients and getting them genuinely excited about the possibilities for their home. I love diving into the process of creating a vision — learning the story of the home, understanding the client’s lifestyle and dreams, and piecing together the space in a way that feels uniquely theirs.
AJ: How do you balance functionality and aesthetics in your designs?
DC: Balancing functionality and aesthetics is essential in our designs, especially since many of our clients are young families who rely on durable, family-friendly furniture. We’re dedicated to partnering with vendors that offer high-performance fabrics and finishes that don’t compromise on beauty. A lot of our time goes into researching materials that deliver both functionality and visual appeal, so every piece not only withstands daily life but also enhances the space.
We also find that clients often prefer to invest in statement pieces like lighting fixtures, which add a lot of personality without the wear and tear. On the other hand, for items like rugs that are more likely to be affected by family life, we’ll opt for affordable, stylish options. This high-low mix keeps the design grounded, approachable, and practical without sacrificing the aesthetic vision.
