Peek Inside Fashion Designer Angelica Svanström’s Stylish Abode

Sometimes a person’s aesthetic can be so defined that it permeates every aspect of their identity. Such is the case for fashion designer Angelica Svanström, whose quietly stunning home, set in the heart of the bucolic Swedish landscape, mimics the classic allure of her brand, Giacca. Nestled in a tranquil area outside of Stockholm, this one-story villa, originally built in the 1970s, underwent a transformative renovation in 2020, emerging as a muse of modern sophistication.

Svanström, alongside her husband Tom and their two children, embarked on a journey to reimagine their dwelling into a haven of contemporary elegance. With her keen eye for aesthetics — thanks to her fashion day job and affinity for lifestyle and food photography — and her husband’s expertise as a project manager in construction, their collaboration birthed a residence that exudes charm and character at every turn. Upon stepping into their 1,500-square-foot, Zen-like home, one is immediately captivated by the interplay of space and light. Glazing-barred windows, strategically placed and meticulously planned to follow the sun’s trajectory throughout the day, flood the rooms with natural radiance, creating an ambiance of warmth and serenity.

The interiors, adorned with Lady Minerals chalk paint from Jotun in hues of Smooth White and Sand, evoke a sense of understated luxury, while the bathrooms boast micro-cement finishes on walls and ceilings, adding a touch of industrial chic. In the kitchen, a bold move ensued as Svanström opted to forego fixed cabinets in favor of a magnificent wooden cupboard sourced through an online ad. This daring decision, met with skepticism initially, proved to be a stroke of genius, seamlessly integrating functionality with timeless charm. Every detail, from the untreated solid pine floors to the Jotun color, Höstbrun-treated pine doors, reflects a commitment to craftsmanship and authenticity.

For Svanström, her home serves as a canvas for self-expression, a reflection of her eclectic tastes and unwavering creativity. With an innate ability to blend old-world charm with contemporary flair, she has curated a space that not only inspires but also nurtures her artistic endeavors. From fashion to food to interiors, every corner tells a story of passion and purpose.
