In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Artemest has presented the third edition of L’Appartamento by Artemest. Set during Milan Design Week 2025, the milestone exhibition celebrates the timeless allure of Italian craftsmanship and design through the lens of six globally renowned design talents.
This year’s edition unfolds within Palazzo Donizetti, a 19th-century architectural masterpiece located at Via Gaetano Donizetti 48. The palazzo seamlessly captures the essence of Italy’s timeless refinement and embodies an eclectic fusion of architectural styles. Inside, six internationally acclaimed interior design studios — 1508 London, Champalimaud Design, Meyer Davis, Nebras Aljoaib, Romanek Design Studio and Simone Haag — have each transformed a distinct room, showcasing an extraordinary selection of furniture, lighting, home décor and art by Artemest finest artisans, brands, and artists. Together, they have crafted spaces that exemplify the beauty, uniqueness, and creativity of Italian craftsmanship and design.
Upon reaching the first floor of Palazzo Donizetti, visitors are greeted by The Foyer by Simone Haag – an elegant prelude to the journey. The Australian decorator embraces its Italianate spirit, juxtaposing historic elegance with contemporary collectible design from Italy’s modern vanguards.
The Reading Room and Studio by Saudi interior designer Nebras Aljoaib reimagines classical architecture with a modern twist. Ornate gilded moldings and arched niches preserve its historic charm, while sculptural furniture and bold midcentury influences bring a fresh perspective.
The Grand Salon by multi-disciplinary design studio Meyer Davis invites guests into an immersive space suspended between past and present, fantasy and reality: La Sirena. The award-winning firm wanted to explore the ways in which classical palazzo interiors could be presented as an ode to Italian modernity. Drawing inspiration from the myth of the siren and the echoes of an opulent past, the grand salon has at its heart four intimate seating arrangements to foster conversation and movement, layered with curated objects and art for discovery.
The journey continues into The Dining Room by Los Angeles-based practice Romanek Design Studio. The soaring ceilings, original parquet floors, and abundant natural light create a breathtaking sanctuary where time slows down. Founder and award-winning designer, Brigette Romanek, embraced this grandeur with a sense of calm, transforming an initially overwhelming space into one of serene beauty — designed to be lived in, not just admired.
The Entertainment Room by 1508 London reimagines the 19th-century salon, transforming it into a dynamic and eclectic space designed to foster connection and creativity. Drawing inspiration from the interiors of the world’s most prestigious members’ clubs, which blend timeless details with a warm, residential charm, the room creates an inviting environment that encourages meaningful conversations.
The tour of L’Appartamento by Artemest culminates in the whimsical, cinematic charm embodied by The Bedroom by Champalimaud Design. Inspired by the glamour of 1960s Italian cinema, the New York-based design firm envisioned the bedroom as a sensuous and playful retreat where friends gather before and after a night out — an intimate homage to La Dolce Vita within the opulent Palazzo Donizetti.
With its unique setting and compelling curation featuring more than 180 Italian artisans and artists, the third edition of L’Appartamento by Artemest promises to captivate visitors, offering a multi-sensory experience that highlights the unparalleled craftsmanship and vision of Italy’s finest makers.
