BoConcept Celebrates 20 Years Of The Indivi Sofa

Danish designer, Anders Nørgaard, describes Indivi as “his baby” and for good reason. Indivi is BoConcept’s first and longest-running sofa, and it has been consistently among the brand’s top-two-selling sofas since launch. It also marks the start of a long partnership, which has produced a host of Nørgaard-penned designs, including the hugely popular Osaka and Carlton sofas, the innovative footstool-bed, XTRA; and the mid-century-esque,
Lucca recliner armchair.

Anders believes Indivi’s longevity lies in its array of configuration options and clean aesthetic. “Customers love its minimalism, which can be maintained, or easily given more personality with a throw or cushions. It can offer a somewhat utilitarian look, or you can choose the highest-quality leather and it becomes very luxurious. And it delivers lots of freedom with various configuration, leg and armrest options. It’s timeless Danish minimalism,” says
Anders Nørgaard.

One size doesn’t fit all

BoConcept believes in developing designs that customers can tailor to their exact needs, tastes and lifestyles. In that spirit, Indivi can be ordered in a range of sizes; from compact-living 2-seaters to vast corner configurations.

BoConcept hasn’t rested on the success of the original design. Since launch, the brand, in partnership with Anders Nørgaard, has developed Indivi with sofa bed, matching concealed storage footstools, chaise longue, open-end versions and more.

This year, that evolution continues with new slim-line armrests. The addition features a visually calming soft curved inner profile and maintains Indivi’s characteristic minimalism. All versions are available in the brand’s selection of over a hundred luxury fabrics and leathers.

The Indivi sofa is available across its sixty-five markets now. The slim-line armrests will be launched in September as part of the new 2020 collection.
