With the dog days of summer starting to settle in, now is a better time than any to heed your call to the wild. Lounging poolside or from the comfort of a patio might be two suitable, yet slightly superficial, ways to soak up the sunny season. However, if you want to connect with Mother Nature on a deeper (and design-minded) level, consider booking a stay at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts. The hotelier’s Berkshires outpost has recently welcomed a duo of tents to bring some style to the property’s serene surroundings.
“The Berkshires is a beautiful place to connect with nature and escape the cities, [and] Canyon Ranch is a place to reset, recharge and be well,” shares Katie Mulligan, the property’s vice president of spa, beauty, and retail. “Our guests will be able to enjoy some of their favorite services or try a new one while connecting with nature in the summer and fall months in our tents.”

Cleverly located next to the on-site outdoor labyrinth, a mindful walking path that promotes inner calm, the tents offer a seamless way to connect with the great outdoors.
“We wanted to give our guests the opportunity to feel like they are in a private space for services, but still hear the calming sounds of a bird’s song and the breeze in the surrounding oak trees,” explains Mulligan.

Decked out with a white façade and transparent paneling, each tent has a weightless quality akin to floating on a cloud. However, each of the two tents serve very different purposes. Guests will enjoy the Aura Tent for individual services such as outdoor grounding reflexology, breathwork, or an al fresco chakra recharge. Meanwhile, group activities and sessions such as “Tea & Tarot,” “The Art of Manifesting,” or an outdoor sound bath can be enjoyed together in the Mystic Tent.
Canyon Ranch might offer a diverse menu of offerings, but its wellness program is by no means cookie-cutter. Mulligan shares the property takes pre-arrival calls to ensure each guest has an “integrated, personalized” experience. “A trip to Canyon Ranch can offer you a holistic wellness experience that we are here to support in whichever path fits you,” she notes. “It’s not a one-size-fits-all.”

Of course, that same emphasis on unparalleled hospitality exists outside of the Aura and Mystic Tents. Post-treatment, guests can enjoy all-inclusive meals meticulously prepared by Chef Pete Ghione or a series of carefully curated retreats. (Upcoming events include a Beat Burnout program designed to combat stress and a transformative retreat with Deepak Chopra.) However, regardless of how you spend your stay, it’s safe to say the mind-body connection has never been so stylish.
