Coup D’œil: A Sneak Peek At Our Upcoming Fall Issue

Our upcoming fall issue is dedicated to collaborators. Design duos who share their days and nights and live to tell the tale! Partners who push that analogous boulder to achieve pride of accomplishment and hold hands in quiet retrospective joy.

Setting the standard, our cover story invites you inside the Hudson Valley home of the duo that started it all: aspire Editor in Chief, Amy Sneider and Publisher, Steven Mandel.

Get a special glimpse at what’s in store for this issue, and grab a copy for yourself in the coming weeks.

Somerset, England
Design: Liliya Salakhutdinova
Photography: Rachael Smith
Coordinating twin beds amplify the power of pattern at the UK home of Liliya Salakhutdinova, founder of Anor Living, a sustainable lifestyle brand that honors Uzbek traditions through its collections of artisan-crafted silk embroidered cushions, suzanis, dresses and more.

Warsaw, Poland
Design Duo: Houmi Projekty | Katarzyna Kacik and Aleksandra Poprawa-Ozga Photography: Dariusz Jarząbek
For this retro kitchen, the pink cabinet fronts bring a vivid and joyful touch and harmonize with the white, fish-scale-shaped tiles on the backsplash and walls. The countertop is made of deeply veined quartzite and adds a sophisticated look to the room. The original and fresh character of this kitchen is a big hit with the homeowners, who appreciate the seamless blending of modern and retro style.

Los Angeles, California
Design: Jane Shay Wald and Charles Kreuter
Photography: Darlene Halaby
With a free-standing tub perched like a sculpture on a plinth, a Roy Lichtenstein
poster on the wall, and a spaceman piñata standing atop a BUBU stool designed by Philippe Starck, the bathroom of this LA loft reads like an art gallery.

Biarritz, France
Design: Carole Dugelay
Photography: Patrick Sordoillet
Styling: Marie-Maud Levron
Spending valuable years in the fashion industry — as a textile designer with Christian Lacroix, then Kenzo — allowed Carole Dugelay to refine her sense of aesthetics, sharpen her eye, and affirm her love for color and materials. She deftly applied those skills to her own family’s apartment in Biarritz.

Smithville, Texas
Design: Patrice Nichole and Debi Etheridge
Photography: Avery Nicole Photography
Think pink! The working-order pink payphone, circa 1980s, that was found on eBay and a custom neon sign are perfectly paired against a backdrop of Barneby Gates’ Ikat Heart wallcovering in this funky home.

Los Angeles, California
Design: Caren Rideau, Kitchen Design Group
Photography: Meghan Beierle-O’Brien
Caren Rideau’s client yearned for a kitchen to entertain in. In lieu of moving the major plumbing line in the middle of the floor, Rideau created an island and continued the Caesarstone countertop. Together they decided not to include upper wall cabinets to maintain the openness into the rest of the space.
