Designer Courtney McLeod is no stranger to color and pattern. Whether designing for a client, a showhouse, or in her own Harlem home, McLeod is known to utilize invigorating, joyful hues and layers of adventurous prints. But when it came time to design her new collection with Raka Studio, the artisanal, sculptural forms the brand is known for afforded her a new opportunity — the chance to create something truly fantastical.

The resulting collaboration unfolds through five distinct designs inspired by one of McLeod’s favorite quotes from the iconic world of Alice in Wonderland: “When I used to read fairy tales, I fancied that kind of thing never happened, and now here I am in the middle of one!”
Together, the pieces explore a gentle balance between forward-thinking design and joy-infused interiors. Forms are intentional yet light, expressive without excess, designed to be lived with, not just looked at.

The Daybed
Sculptural in silhouette, generous in proportion. Translated in bentwood and natural upholstery — a piece that sits like furniture and reads like sculpture.

The Wall Console
A dynamic and functional wall-mounted console perfectly designed for a dramatic moment in a petite entry. An integrated mirror detail adds to the overall functionality of the console.

The Vanity Chair
Slender bentwood legs, a sculpted seat — the kind of chair Alice herself might have found in the Queen’s boudoir.

The Mirror
A functional art piece designed in the Raka language of sinuous movement and organic dynamism. With a hand-ground bentwood frame, now two pieces are alike.

The Light Fixture
A flush mount that carries the same material logic as the rest of the collection. Built to illuminate without interrupting.
