The design industry has been watching the continued success and growth of Currey & Company over the past few years. In 2018, Currey began offering accessories. Now they’re upping their profile in casegoods and upholstery with the introduction of furniture designed by architect and designer, Barry Goralnick.
New pieces inspired by Hollywood Regency and reinterpreted for today complement Goralnick’s existing lighting designs for Currey & Company. Updated scale and proportions bring centuries-old classic elements into the current vernacular. The Greek Key is reimagined in different incarnations on the Zoe Credenza and Cabinet, as well as the Zoe Club Chair and Artemis Chair.
Artemis Chair.
If we had to choose a favorite, it’s the Artemis Chair. Goralnick sees it not only as an accent chair, but as a chair for any room. Gorgeous from every angle, a set of them would be stunning surrounding a dining table. Goralnick attests, “They’re exceptionally comfortable, unlike so many Klismos chairs of the past. We gave it a wider, deeper seat and updated the pitch of the back to make sure you can relax in it for longer periods of time.”
Zoe Club Chair.
The Zoe Club Chair is another favorite – nice and deep. We love the detailed Greek Key frame in dark chocolate wood. The crafted continuous pattern continues from the arms across the back. It’s the sort of subtle, sophisticated design element we’ve come to expect from Goralnick.
Goralnick says that the team approach at Currey & Company insures the best quality and integrity of design. He works closely with Director of Furniture, Aimee Kurzner, an award-winning furniture designer in her own right.

Goralnick’s design, Kurzner’s skill, and Currey & Company’s production excellence are a trifecta in which good design always comes first. With this new furniture introduction, Currey and Goralnick simultaneously capture the masculine and the feminine, the classic and the modern, simplicity and maximalism.
