Under the leadership of Founding Chair James Huniford, Housing Works joined forces this past weekend with the nation’s top interior designers to curate over 50 stunning vignettes filled with home décor, furniture, art, and housewares for the annual “Design on a Dime” event. Everything on view was for sale for up to 80% off retail prices to benefit Housing Works’ healthcare and housing for New Yorkers living with HIV, homelessness and other chronic illnesses.

The opening for this year’s D.O.A.D. festivities was the Groundbreaker Awards Dinner, which brought together Housing Works’ closest friends and supporters for a celebratory evening to honor outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the fight to end HIV/AIDS and homelessness, and to raise vital funds to bolster housing expansion efforts throughout the city, providing hundreds of New Yorkers a solid foundation from which to build a successful future.

This year’s honorees included celebrity stylist Jason Bolden and partner, interior designer Adair Curtis; supermodel and activist Iman, and author and journalist Derek Blasberg. They were joined by presenters Tamron Hall, Sienna Miller, and Deirdre Maloney (Co-Founder of Afternoon Light + Shoppe Objet). Nate Berkus and his partner Jeremiah Brent were also in attendance to celebrate the honorees.
