Andrew Joseph: How do you stay creative and inspired?
Jennifer Kole: I stay creative and inspired by embracing the world around me — whether it’s traveling to new places, dining out, or simply stepping outside to explore different spaces and cultures. Immersing myself in various architectural styles and vibrant atmospheres sparks endless ideas. I’m also an Instagram aficionado; there’s nothing like a good design crush to keep the inspiration flowing! Staying in tune with the latest trends and timeless classics on social media fuels my creative passion.

AJ: What is your favorite aspect of your job?
JK: The best part of my job is seeing spaces undergo a magical transformation and the joy it brings to people. There’s nothing quite like watching a once-dull room come to life with personality and flair. Knowing that my designs make clients genuinely happy in their new environments is incredibly fulfilling. It’s a beautiful blend of creativity and emotional connection that makes every project worthwhile.

AJ: What is your favorite design trend from the past?
JK: I absolutely adore the Art Deco style! Its grand chandeliers, bold geometric patterns, and rich layering of luxurious materials captivate my heart. The elegance and opulence of this trend never fail to inspire my designs. It’s a perfect blend of glamor and sophistication that always stands the test of time.

AJ: What inspired you to become a designer?
JK: My journey into design started with a love for real estate and an eye for beautiful spaces. Constantly surrounded by stunning — and sometimes not-so-stunning — spaces, I found myself irresistibly drawn to the art of transformation. Friends nudged me into the business after seeing my own home, which I treated as a personal canvas. Their encouragement turned my passion into a fulfilling career, and I’ve never looked back!

AJ: What is the most important element in a successful interior design?
JK: The cornerstone of successful interior design is constant communication and transparency with clients. It’s vital to remember that while creativity is key, the design must ultimately reflect their home and not just my vision. Building a collaborative relationship ensures that every project is tailored to the client’s unique tastes and needs. This harmony between designer and client is what truly brings a space to life.
