Dream Big: Engineering Our World

db_poster_thumbDream Big is bigger than a film, it’s a movement. MacGillivray Freeman Films, “Dream Big: Engineering Our World,” produced in partnership with the American Society of Civil Engineers and presented by Bechtel Corporation. This IMAX movie is the first major film release to celebrate engineering and the impact engineers have on our society, with the hope of inspiring the next generation of engineers. Dream Big” opens in IMAX theatres and science centers across the country on February 17, 2017 to coincide with national Engineers Week.

Harnessing the full impact of the immersive IMAX experience, “Dream Big” offers a fresh perspective on what it means to be an engineer—and shows the heart that drives engineers to create better lives for people around the world.  The film features a diverse cast including three young women engineersa high school engineering team and an engineer who uses Lidar technology to peer into some of the world’s greatest marvels, like the Great Wall of China.  The film, bolstered with far-reaching outreach programs and educational materials, makes engineering accessible to everyone and aspires to get kids of all backgrounds, especially girls, to get excited about engineering as a means of solving the challenges of the future.

In the film, audiences will meet:

As part of the film’s release, the filmmakers are working with volunteer engineers all over the country who will appear at museums and science centers where the film is playing.  These engineers will participate in Girls Night Out programs, meet with school groups and demonstrate the creativity and imagination that engineers everywhere are using to create a sustainable future for all of us.
