Aportela says Spanish-speaking clients make up about half of her Sunshine State business; she also has a client base from New Jersey, New York and New England. The busy designer undertakes everything, from working with existing spaces to complete renovations. Her client list includes high end resorts, snowbirds’ vacation homes and more.
“Most of my projects have been in Miami, but I have extended work to Naples, Fort Myers, The Keys, West Palm and Palm Beach. There is no project I won’t take on because of distance. I’ve completed work overseas, too, in Curacao, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and Haiti,” notes Aportela.

“Builders like themed design,” Aportela explains. “They like buyers to be swept off their feet. Ultimately, I create the dream, and the builder sells it.” Sounds like a visionary to us.
