JK Art & Design Projects Announces Launch And Debut Exhibition

JK Art & Design Projects, a new collaboration between Jeff Lincoln and Katherine Vogel, announces its launch as a reimagining of Jeff Lincoln Art + Design, the Southampton gallery founded by Lincoln 10 years ago at the intersection of art, design, and interiors. The partnership with Vogel — formerly Director of Friedman Benda and Gallery Valentine — whose deep experience with artists, designers, collectors, and the evolving collectible design market, offers a forward-looking perspective to the existing gallery framework.

“I founded the gallery ten years ago to explore the intersection of art and collectible design — two worlds that, at the time, still existed in largely separate conversations,” says Lincoln. “Over the past decade, that dialogue has expanded considerably. This anniversary felt like the right moment for a transformation.”

JK Art & Design Projects will debut with Just Kidding, an inaugural exhibition on view May 23 through June 19, 2026, which combines contemporary and historical voices in collectible design whose work reflects experimentation, material intelligence, and a sense of play. Taking its title from the verb “to kid,” the presentation is a celebration of the humor, playfulness, and sense of wonder that run through the works on view. Rather than treating design as fixed or purely functional, the exhibition considers how objects can surprise, disarm, and invite a more imaginative encounter with the everyday.

Located in a historic building constructed in 1900 as Southampton’s first power station, JK Art & Design Projects is situated within the East End’s long history as a site of artistic, architectural, and design experimentation. The exhibition pays homage to that legacy while reflecting the gallery’s mission to spotlight distinctive voices in contemporary design who push the limits of creative expression through material exploration and innovative perspectives.
