Through bold, organic shapes and a wabi-sabi approach, the Tesuque textile collection from Kufri evokes an intimate feeling of being connected to the mesa. Founder and designer Mili Suleman and her team specifically chose to create raw-looking impressions rather than perfectly filled for this collection.
“The raw beauty of New Mexico stirs my soul in every way. From the deep yellow hue of the Chamisa plant to the crude shapes found in the hand-chiseled doors, inspiration and unmistakable charm await at every corner,” says Suleman. “All the patterns have a unique story and will feel at home, whether that be in a sunny mid-century or an airy loft.”
Linen ground, each design is block-printed on 100% handwoven linen, which Kufri’s weavers make, resulting in a beautiful texture and high durability. The collection will include six designs with each design available in 2-4 colorways. Additionally, because it’s block-printed, they can easily accommodate custom colors for designers as well.
The Tesuque collection officially launches on February 18th. In addition to the textiles, Kufri is also launching its first line of furniture and ceramics, inspired by New Mexican woodworking practices that date back to the 1700s. See more from Kufri here.
