Andrew Joseph: How do you incorporate client feedback into your designs?
Bruno Pagliano: In an intimate dialogue with the client, I usually discuss things from their life, like their favorite color palette, and from there I do my thing. Art. My intense sensitivity and perception connect immediately with my clients’ gaze and the exchange of ideas.
AJ: Best advice you’d give your teenage self?
BP: Although I don’t like giving advice, I would tell my teenage self: keep living, don’t leave this world; you will become Juan’s father, and you will make the world more beautiful with your art.
AJ: What is your favorite aspect of your job?
BP: That the client gives me their home or company and allows me to transform it into a living work of art, an experience where opening the door feels like entering the artwork itself and becoming part of it, not as a spectator but as a fundamental piece living alongside the work.
AJ: What’s your design pet peeve?
BP: When the artist stops doing what they feel or stops being themselves to please others; that essence must never be betrayed.
AJ: What is your favorite design era?
BP: I came into this world to be my son Juan’s father, to be an artist, and to be a friend to my friends and to those who are yet to come. So my favorite era is always while I am alive; every day I bring my works into being in my studio.
