Andrew Joseph: How do you stay creative and inspired?
Dalia Forman: I do visit a lot of art exhibitions and museums. The ocean inspires me and connects me with my inner side. The waves remind me to move forward in creativity and feel free. The beauty of inspiration and creativity is unlimited and does not exist under any rules. Sometimes, I listen to or read a book, and later an inspiration comes… This is how it works for me: very natural and spontaneous. The more you create, the more creativity will flourish.
AJ: Can you describe your design philosophy in three words?
DF: Artistic, dynamic, fun.
Néstor Neyret – Petit Mal
AJ: How do you incorporate art into your designs?
DF: My eyes blend both art and design worlds to become one. It has a dialogue in my mind and soul. Art tells a story by itself in silence, and represents an important element in design. Art can carry memories; lift emotions. Art is my passion, and I connect the dots with designing elements. It is hard to explain with words the love and respect I have for art.
AJ: What are you excited about right now?
DF: I’m excited to bring a new vision of the art and design aspect. A new narrative that emphasizes craftsmanship, and the integration of collective design with the eye of a gallerist. To establish new parameters in the industry. Latin America is my roots. It is a nice feeling to merge all my years in New York, blending the heritage in my life. It is like a sun shining in the ocean every sunrise. The excitement is to challenge myself to move forward and be my best version to other colleagues, family, and friends.

AJ: Best advice you’d give your teenage self?
DF: “Nature is beautiful. The beauty that could be felt in art, design and beyond.” I mean to be you all the time, to feel the failure as part of your success and future. Own your own journey with the goals that you set for yourself, and you have been creating them.
AJ: Favorite quote?
DF: “Design impresses. Art defines.” Every guest moment becomes unforgettable.
