This month, celebrated interiors, textile and furnishings designer Peter Dunham opens Peter Dunham Home & Garden, his first brick-and-mortar location in New York City. The showroom, located at 200 Lexington, Suite 715, will house Dunham’s two product brands, Hollywood at Home and Peter Dunham Textiles, under one roof.
Occupying roughly 3,500 square feet in the New York Design Center, Dunham intertwines made-to-order and in-stock furnishings with vintage finds sourced around the world. Accessories like handwoven bedcovers, stitched leather trays, artisan ceramics, and decorative pillows by the dozen are available to grab and go. Textiles for the indoors and out, wallpaper, and grasscloth are on full display with patterned surfaces designed to inspire.
“From a practical point of view, we’ve been developing and growing our collections of textiles, furniture, accessories and most recently, in-stock outdoor over the last 20 years,” Dunham says. “Now we’ve reached a point where the goods are there, the company infrastructure is built, and the clients are ready for us to expand and grow. New York is the obvious next step. On a personal level, my heart has always belonged to New York, from the first time I spewed out the Midtown Tunnel and that energy hit me. There’s not a day I don’t miss New York, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to loop back in this way.”
