Gwen Donovan: What can clients expect from California Closets when they are ready to design a dream closet?
Tanya Medvedieva: Our clients expect functionality; everyone is different, and everyone has a different lifestyle. Our goal is to find out what their needs are by asking a lot of questions about how they like to have everything organized; it’s highly personalized. Some want more hanging storage while others want dedicated shoe shelves or built-in dresser drawers. We even look at the style and aesthetic of the home, whether it’s modern, traditional or contemporary, and design the space to complement that style. We prefer to design on-site so we can collaborate with the client and show them how the system will look in their space using our 3-D design program.
GD: What sets California Closets apart from other closet companies?
TM: The number one thing that’s set us apart is our people and our products. We pride ourselves on exceeding our clients’ expectations. We don’t subcontract any of the work out so you know that everyone entering the home is a California Closets employee. Our storage systems are high-end, and we stand by our products. We are in constant communication with our clients throughout the installation process and even after an installation is complete. If a client ever needs a replacement key for a drawer lock or wants to add an accessory, it’s easy to call us and we’re happy to help.
GD: What are some of your most popular closet design features?
TM: We are seeing a lot of interest in our Everstyle drawers which are exclusive to California Closets. We offer a variety of customizable sized drawers for jewelry as well as shoes, purses, laundry, home electronics and more.
GD: What are people often surprised to learn about California Closets?
TM: Our design services are complimentary; we work within your budget, and we want our customers to love the end result. We design systems for garages, mudrooms and kitchen pantries, home offices, laundry rooms and more. We also offer a line of space-saving wall beds.
