International archetypal designer Marcel Wanders created a whimsical environment for the new Mondrian Doha Hotel in Qatar, incorporating his bespoke design features. Interiors are also influenced by the collective themes of ornate Arabic writing and historic souks. Memorable elements include giant columns with golden eggs, a “tree of life” fashioned from flowers, falcon video art, giant Shesha, patterned carpets, ornate stained glass and intricate mosaics. Wanders’ lacy black spiral staircase in the atrium gives an impression of extending to infinity and beyond.
