Inspired by the meditative rituals of brewing tea, Kufri’s new Ritual collection honors the intimacy of simple, everyday customs. Three designs – Terroir, Ritual and Obi – come together in various colorways, totaling eight new fabrics.
Jute, silk, cotton and recycled cotton sari come together to create a joyful meditation that is grounded, earthy and beautifully saturated. The fabrics are heavily textured, raw, and a sensory delight, conveying the rustic villages, mineral-rich soil and climate where tea is grown.
Echoing the misty, mountain air and mineral-rich soils of the highlands, TERROIR blends jute and cotton, creating a delicious, tactile experience worthy of pause.
A silk-cotton blend, RITUAL features gentle, undulating lines — quiet yet joyful. Its soft variegation evokes the small, intimate moments shared over tea, where stillness and connection steep together.
Handwoven with recycled cotton yarns, OBI consists of narrow strips meticulously joined together in rhythm like rows of tea bushes. Drenched in joyful color, yet deeply meditative.
Founder Mili Suleman’s multicultural background and passion to preserve heritage textile processes inspired each textile design. Born in Bombay and raised in Oman, Mili works out of her studio in Dallas, Texas, where she also invites designers for a cup of tea and conversation.
