Guest Room 126 By Alexis Hughes At The 2022 Ronald McDonald Showhouse

“Participating in DESIGNING HOPE was an exciting opportunity for us to give back to the tremendous organization that was home to my childhood friend who lived there with her family years ago. My hope was to design a room that would provide a bit of a respite for families who find themselves there. I was inspired by a room that our firm had recently completed for a family’s weekend home, it feels like a warm and inviting treetop retreat. From the moment I began to think about our room, I had wanted to use Cole & Son pale blue-grey birch tree wallpaper as a backdrop. We have pieced together our room with that starting point – our favorite striped sheer curtains from The Shade Store, a nod to the woodlands with a cozy area rug from Stark, and The Urban Electric Company’s calamine pink wall light which provided a subtle accent that we carried throughout. The generosity of other vendors, tradespeople and donors was a blessing, especially at this time coming out of the pandemic. It has been a joy to work together for such an important cause.”
