Rupp Studio Lounge at the 2022 Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse

I was imagining a place for solitude, reflection, and decompression. Brooding and romantic, expressed through rich jewel tones and sumptuously inviting furniture. Layering of disparate styles and programming to satisfy the client’s mood or intent.

Color blocking brings a strength and modern interest to the straightforward architecture, and the burnished lime walls provide a dreamy depth, and backdrop for the client’s art collection and imagination.
“Oh, you’re designing a room for a James Bond villain,” said the super talented decorative painter, Mark Chamberlain, who helped conceive and artfully craft the walls and ceiling.

Perhaps a Bond villainess, I thought.
