Witch’s Cabinet and Rainbow Barstool from Sawkille Co.
Co-owners Jonah Meyer and Tara DeLisio are, respectively, designer and creative director of Sawkille Co, a handcrafted furniture company based in beautiful Rhinebeck, NY. Meyer’s background in fine art painting and sculpture complements his appreciation of the practical aspects of furniture design, which he first developed while homesteading in the 1970s. Meanwhile, DeLisio moved from early studies of biology into entrepreneurship, helping Meyer’s designs reach ever-more-appreciative echelons of collectors around the world.

Some of Sawkille’s signature finishes (pictured) include ebonized walnut, bleached maple, blackened steel, indigo dye and inlays. But, whatever the finish, each piece is handcrafted using sustainably forested material in a no-waste workshop – reflecting the brand’s desire to do good work in a good way.
Today, celebrities and tastemakers seek out Sawkille Co., working with Meyer and company to create custom pieces that incorporate the brand’s aesthetic with the clients’ own personal stories and meaningful symbols.
