Escape the fast-paced city life and stay in Anchorage 1770, a newly renovated waterfront inn with incredible preserved history and astonishing coastal views. Nestled in the quaint town of Beaufort, SC, named the “2015 Best Small Town” by Southern Living Magazine. The Inn is a five-story pre-Revolutionary house built in 1770 by William Elliott and is known as the largest and oldest tabby structure still in use. Locals know the establishment as “the old tabby Clubhouse” that hosted some of their special events.
Anchorage 1770 pays homage to its history with renovations by architectural designer Cooter Ramsey and interior design by Michelle Prentice. This Lowcountry retreat offers cozy porches, large bay windows, and a refreshing view of the natural elements.
Guests can enjoy in-room massages, yoga on the porches and a daily happy hour. The Inn’s Top Deck features the best waterfront views. Interior designer Michelle Prentice designed the Inn with contemporary spaces that respect traditional design. She was careful to fill the rooms with furniture and decor that is timeless and strong. Owners Frank & Amy Lesesne also mastered adding personal touches like a rich selection of wine in the honesty bar and local soaps in the rooms with sweet southern smells.
So, if you’re on the hunt for a Southern B&B experience with history and 360 waterfront sights, Anchorage 1770 needs to be on the top of your travel must list!
