Hosted at The Goldwyn House, the iconic Los Angeles location of The Future Perfect, a new solo show shines a spotlight on the sculptural work of French architect and designer Thierry Lemaire. Known for his bold and refined aesthetic, Lemaire presents pieces at the intersection of architecture, collectible design, and the Decorative Arts. Conceived by David Alhadeff, founder of The Future Perfect and a pioneer of contemporary design, the exhibition embodies the gallery’s philosophy: blurring the lines between art, design, and craftsmanship while championing independent designers and experimental works.
For this occasion, Lemaire has created a series of pieces designed specifically for the gallery. Developed in close collaboration with exceptional artisans, these Brutalist-inspired works stand out through their organic forms and noble materials – such as marble, patinated bronze, and lacquer.

Drawing inspiration from his recent trip to Mexico, Lemaire unveils sculptural onyx pieces that echo the modernist architecture of Luis Barragán, the geometric rigor of the Church of the Resurrection in Cuajimalpa, the region’s lush natural environment, and Mexico’s rich mineral heritage. In contrast to the depth of this stone, he also introduces the OMNIA sofa and lounge chair, featuring clean, soft lines that evoke the mineral essence of onyx. Crafted in burnt steel, the KAALA and TWIST pieces evoke both material and fire — each becoming a form of controlled accident: a meeting of spontaneous gesture and the precision of design. Through these three complementary ensembles, Thierry Lemaire composes a perceptive and refined landscape, shaped by a vision of design in constant evolution.

“Thierry Lemaire’s work embodies the intersection of elegance and experimentation that lies at the heart of The Future Perfect’s mission,” shares Alhadeff. “With this exhibition, we celebrate the strength of French design and a rich dialogue between architectural form, artisanal mastery, and sculptural expression — capturing the spirit of creative risk and refinement that defines The Goldwyn House.”
