8 Ukrainian Designers To Look For At Salon Maison et Objet, Paris

Later this week, design doyens from all over the world will flock to Paris as over 2,000 brands take over the halls of the Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte for the Salon Maison & Objet fair. Starting off the bi-annual event with the theme Sur/Reality, January’s show will see product designers’ interpretation of a new surrealism. Expect this trend to take shape in unexpected objects and dreamlike settings that, “invite us to let go, and addresses consumers’ newfound appetite for the strange and the surprising.”

In recent years, Ukrainian design and craft objects have attracted the attention of the Salon curators, who select them for their scenographies in trend zones to demonstrate the most current trends. This year, items from Ukrainian designers – furniture, lighting, decorative and art objects – will be presented by the Galerie Sana Moreau, the only gallery of Ukrainian design and craft in France.
