Interior Design: Dvira Ovadia of Dvira Interiors
Location: In the heart of downtown Toronto, Ontario, in a quaint neighborhood known for the iconic St. Lawrence Market.
Client Review: A couple in their 30s working within creative fields. Their well-traveled lifestyle and design-driven perspective influence a home that values originality, layered details, and a subtle connection to the natural world, with warm, desert-inspired undertones.
Design Aims: An urban retreat that blends bold creativity with earthy warmth, where indoor and outdoor living intertwine to create a soulful, sun-washed escape in the heart of the city.
From the Designer | The condo spans multiple levels and is designed with an open, flowing layout that maximizes light and livability. What makes the home especially rare is the abundance of balconies and outdoor spaces, an unexpected luxury in a city condo that immediately blurs the line between indoor and outdoor living. With balconies and patios extending off nearly every room, the residence feels grounded and serene, more akin to a private retreat than an urban apartment.
A rich, tactile palette unfolds throughout the home with warm honey-toned woods, deep green accents, and moments of expressive pattern. Old world opulence is carefully balanced with modern restraint, creating interiors that feel grounded yet elevated, elegant yet quietly dramatic. Every detail plays a role in shaping spaces that feel curated but never precious, polished yet inviting.
Another standout moment was limewashing the entire third level; watching the terracotta tones transform the walls, ceilings, doors, and baseboards in real time was incredibly rewarding and truly cemented the home’s warm, cocooning atmosphere.
