The 1000M Sales Gallery, designed by Kenneth Riha, ASID of PJR Design, is the winner of the 2018 Gold Award for Best Presentation Center awarded by The Nationals new home sales and marketing awards. The Nationals gala, one of the building industry’s most important events, was hosted on January 9th by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The event took place in Orlando at the 2018 International Builders’ Show to highlight the year’s most outstanding work in residential real estate sales, marketing and design. A diverse panel of industry professionals from across the country selected Gold award winners from more than 1,300 entries.
“The Nationals set the benchmark for innovation in new home design, marketing and sales,” explained Kerry Mulcrone and Meredith Oliver, Nationals chairpersons. “NAHB’s commitment to recognizing originality, imagination and success has been exemplified by its award winners since the competition’s inception.”
PJR Design was asked to create a Sales Gallery showcasing Helmut Jahn’s 74-story building. The landmarked storefront, on Michigan Avenue next to the site, was reconfigured using materials earmarked for the actual building. Italian marble flooring, white walls, cove and recessed lighting, and a majestic reception desk are just some of the highlights of the architectural details of this 7,367 square foot space. State-of- the-art technology – 4K touchscreen kiosks and monitors, a wall of 28 4K monitors creating a view wall run by iPads – also help to explain the cantilevered design of the building.
With a great team behind the scenes, and a client who understands the process, PJR Design designed the space to enhance the sales experience. The experience begins with registration via iPad, which starts each customer’s profile; a dynamic project video with VR animation coupled with helicopter footage; and a scale model with customized LED lighting allowing the agents to highlight by unit type, price point or availability. Two interactive kiosks with wall mounted 4K monitors allow the agents to show the many floor
plans, views from each window, VR renderings and grand amenity levels. A curved 9’ x 28’ view wall allows the customer to visualize themselves in the condo with 360˚ views of their selected unit at day and night. Actual unit vignettes; a material selection area in the conference room; and private offices with touchscreen monitors complete the tour creating a seamless sales process between the customer and the sales agent.
