From old-world to oceanic, these new rug collections bring unique designs and colors to even the most mundane spaces.
Mika Collection | Loloi’s Mika Collection was a huge hit at this year’s High Point Spring Market. Power-loomed of polyester and polypropylene in Egypt, each rug in the collection features tribal-inspired patterns. The textured yarn adds dimension and creates a truly unique look that is long-lasting and durable.
Escala Collection | Escala, the newest six-piece collection from luxury carpet company Scott Group Studio, is slated to launch later this summer. Drawing inspiration from different perspectives of landscape, the collection explores how irregular designs found in nature work underfoot in both large and small scale patterns. Meant to evoke the dichotomy between light and dark in nature, Escala uses golds, deep yellows and oranges to emulate the sun’s beams and blacks and dark grays to represent the night.
Tides | Earlier this month, bespoke luxury carpets company Tai Ping launched their latest collection, Tides. Tides’ nine hand-tufted rugs draw inspiration from and emulate the movement of water. Tai Ping’s lead designers Juliana Polastri and Ariana Massouh designed each rug by first subjecting hand-painted watercolor impressions to a series of resist-dye techniques that produce effects like the marbling qualities found in Splash and Marine and the grainy texturing of Opaline.
Egyptian Collection | At this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair, Armadillo & Co. will share a preview of their latest collection: Egyptian. A new addition to the existing Heirloom Collection, the Egyptian Collection draws inspiration from Lisbon, Portugal and the work of renowned Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus. Hand knotted, these rugs employ a unique combination of dye, fiber, and construction that causes colors to change subtly with the light and gradually reveal themselves over time.
Clara Collection | The Clara Collection is timeless and classic featuring unique old-world designs in a variety of color choices. Power-loomed in Turkey of 100% polypropylene, this collection from Loloi is durable and comfortable.
