ASPIRE DESIGN AND HOME recently reached out to several leading kitchen and design firms to discover their point of view on top trends and new developments in their industry. Their thoughtful responses delve into what motivates, inspires and excites these design pros, and how that passion ultimately breeds success.

From Home & Stone, we spoke with General Manager Sammy Winehouse.

ASPIRE DESIGN AND HOME: Are any of your products sourced from exotic locations?
Sammy Winehouse: We have product from all over the world, but they’re mainly from Europe and the USA.

ADH: Do your customers tend to choose neutral colors or are they looking at more vibrant color schemes?
SW: Both.

ADH: Do you have any design consultants on staff to assist your customers? Or do your customers generally know exactly what they want?
SW: Every one of our salespeople are design consultants as well who can help suggest product depending on your likes and wants.

ADH: If I want to buy a new kitchen sink or a new faucet, how does your company guide me through the process?
SW: Specifically for kitchen we first look at what is practical and useful then we find something that will match your aesthetic and design.

ADH: What is the best or most enjoyable part of your position?
SW: Seeing the finished product the fruit of our labor (once a customer’s home is completed).

ADH: What is the most challenging part of your position?
SW: Coordinating between the customer, designer, plumber and/or contractor to make sure everyone is on the same page from design to technicals.

ADH: If you could choose item in your showroom for your kitchen and baths, what would you choose?
SW: A lighted medicine cabinet such as the Robern Uplift.

ADH: What are some of the most exciting innovations you’ve seen in today’s kitchens?
SW: Kitchen sinks with built in ledges and accessories which is super helpful.

ADH: What are some features your company offers that set you apart?
SW: Design advice, great service, very experienced, attention to details, product knowledge, updated displays, and exclusive products.

ADH: What 2020 bathroom trends do you think will be long-lasting?
SW: I think more and more people are going to Intelligent toilets or electronic bidet seats this is a trend I envision will continue and become more mainstream in 10 years from now everyone will have one.

ADF: Which vanity styles aren’t as popular as they used to be?
SW: Floor mounted vanities are really not as popular as before, more people are opting for the wall mount which gives a cleaner sleeker look.
