Baluch Bagface, Eastern Iran c. 1900
Don and Inge Cadle began collecting rugs in the late 1960s with a focus on Turkish, Caucasian, and Southwest Persian rugs, and abiding affection for early Chinese rugs and ceramics. Don, former Chief Financial Officer of NASA, had a keen interest in the arts. He and Inge began traveling to China in the 1970s, amassing an impressive collection of not-so-average souvenirs. The Cadle’s loved natural rugs, colored with vegetable dyes, geometric patterns, and beautiful patinas. Warm colors and an assortment of worldly patterns and motifs harmonize the overall collection.
Skinner’s Fine Oriental Rugs & Carpets Auction will take place on April 28, 2019 at 63 Park Plaza Boston, MA at 12pm.
