The B&B Italia Group has signed an agreement with the heirs of Luigi Caccia Dominioni to produce and distribute, with an exclusive license, a selection of original iconic products created by one of Italy’s most prominent exponents of post-war design and architecture.
The agreement, which includes the right to use the brand Luigi Caccia Dominioni, affects over 20 products – including chairs, sofas, tables and lamps that have marked the evolution of Italian design for over a half century, starting in the 1940s.
In fact, Luigi Caccia Dominioni belongs to the small group of architects who were the forerunners and founders of Italian design, which was profoundly changed by their works characterized with a rare combination of expressive rigor and the mastery of a formal language and technological knowledge.
The collection will become available in September, and it will include some of the most emblematic products in the history of Italian design: the Catilina chair, the ABCD and Toro armchairs and sofas, the Chinotto armchair, the Cilindro ottoman, the Nonaro outdoor seating system, the tables and small tables Cavalletto, Fasce Cromate and Fascia specchiata, and the lamps Poltrona, Base Ghisa, Monachella and Imbuto.
