The newly established real estate development company City Growth Partners, in cooperation with the City of Detroit, announced today that it will construct two new residential developments, Brush House and The Brush 8, in the historic Brush Park neighborhood.
Founded in late 2017 by real estate veteran Moddie Turay, City Growth Partners (CGP) will focus on commercial development projects that make positive economic, design and social impact in the communities and neighborhoods where they build. Prior to founding CGP, Turay was responsible for overseeing all commercial, industrial and retail development citywide at the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC). Turay has brought on David Howell, his former deputy director while at DEGC, as a Principal Partner at CGP. The two have collaborated on numerous economic development initiatives throughout the city while at DEGC.
“We are honored that the city of Detroit has put their faith in our ability to add to the spirited, forward-thinking redevelopment of Brush Park. Our team is fully committed and looking forward to delivering two exceptional projects that add to the community and neighborhood,” said Moddie Turay Founder and Principal Partner of City Growth Partners. “An essential element of City Growth Partner’s design process will be community engagement across all phases of both projects.”
David Laurence Howell, Principal Partner of City Growth Partners added, “We want to ensure that the voices and stories of Brush Park are not only embraced but also reflected in these landmark developments. We look forward to finding unique opportunities for integrating the ideas and stories of the Brush Park community into the final construction.”
Both developments are set to proceed through the design, approvals and permitting process between August 2018 and August 2019, with an anticipated groundbreaking in March 2019 for The Brush 8 and September 2019 for Brush House. The projects’ openings are set for January 2020 and September 2021 respectively.
