HEALDSBURG, CA
Design: Jay Jeffers
Sonoma County’s newest boutique hotel, designed by celebrated designer Jay Jeffers, features this grand hallway that greets guests with 14-foot ceilings hand-painted by artist Willem Racké with an Aesthetic Movement inspired by transferware from that period. RICHMOND, VIRGINIA
Design: Anne Hulcher Tollett
Old meets new in this dining room designed by Anne Hulcher Tollett of Hanover Avenue as part of an historic house renovation in Richmond, Virginia. Originally a dark-paneled room, the lacquered Ammonite Farrow & Ball paint brightened the space alongside fully reconstructed millwork. The old French chairs and a new bench surround a modern-style table alongside an antique sideboard found at auction. Alongside the contemporary art by a local artist found by the homeowner, the room is crowned by a Mini Endless Double Pendant designed by Roll and Hill. Photography: Helen Norman.

ANSOUIS, FRANCE
Design: Safia Bendali
When Paris-based Safia Bendali — a former brand ambassador for Ladurée, the historic Parisian pâtisserie famous for its colorful macarons — and her husband Bruce found themselves a vacation property in the impossibly picturesque village of Ansouis, 18 miles from Aix-en-Provence, she was determined to make a comfortable home keyed to the relaxed ambiance that pervades this corner of France. Pictured here, the color of Bendali’s kitchen resembles pistachio nuts. Photography: Bénédicte Ausset Drummond; Stylist: Sylvie Thébaud.

PALM BEACH, FLORIDA

ISLANDS BRYGGE, COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
Design: VIPP Design Company
VIPP owner Jette Egelund has made her home in a former pencil factory with a beautiful combination of personal belongings, classic furniture and design from her own company. The blue painting by Mexican artist Carlos Amorales, acquired from the Danish art gallery Nils Stærk, is a personal favorite. The daybed is from the VIPP furniture collection, while the large floor pot is by Danish artist Birgit Østergaard. – Mille Collin Flaherty.

IBIZA, SPAIN
Design: Rozemarijn de Witte and Pierre Traversier
Far north on Ibiza into the wildest and most remote area of the island, Rozemarijn de Witte and Pierre Traversier have designed “Los Enamorados.” The laid-back boutique hotel is a cool and creative crash pad perched on the rocks, as beneficial as a parenthesis between sea and yoga, but also amazing, like this generous and inspiring couple. Most furnishings are from local crafts or Moroccan and Mauritanian markets. “We are passionate about flea markets from Los Angeles to Tokyo to Paris, without being afraid to leave the beaten path or eschew the avant-garde,” explains Traversier.
