FORTH Hotel
ATLANTA, GA
Architecture and Design: Morris Adjmi, Michelle Wagner, Allison Schwartz, Melissa Shalloway | Morris Adjmi Architects
Located in Atlanta’s burgeoning Old Fourth Ward, FORTH is a first-of-its-kind hospitality landmark in the city, combining wellness, design, cuisine, culture, and social connection into one holistic destination. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects (MA), the 16-floor structure includes a 196-room luxury boutique hotel (with 157 guest rooms and 39 apartment-style suites available for extended stays), four distinct food and beverage concepts, an expansive outdoor pool and deck and a state-of-the-art fitness center, with classes and spa-like wellness offerings. The property also features a members-only social club, complete with curated programming and an exclusive restaurant, bar, and lounge.

The building’s primary architectural feature is its exposed concrete diagrid. The diagonal columns not only contribute to the aesthetics of the new building but also serve a structural purpose. Behind the cast-in-place concrete diagrid is a window wall, adding surprising depth and transparency to the façade. Below the tower, a three-story gray brick podium features corbelling that artfully frames each window opening. While the tower is striking and contemporary, the podium is subtle and contextual.

The property’s rich and tailored interiors provide a warm and welcoming counterpoint to its modern tower. Inspired by classic European and Americana design traditions reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, handmade wood furnishings, layered fabrics, and curated objects imbue each space with a sense of place and craftsmanship.
Guided by a passion for placemaking, Morris Adjmi Architects (MA) is a multidisciplinary design practice that provides a comprehensive approach to architecture, planning, interior design, and art. The award-winning New York City-based firm has designed over 27 million square feet of built space in more than 25 cities throughout the United States and abroad, including a wide range of best-in-class residential, hospitality, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
