The Lafayette Hotel, Swim Club & Bungalows is a historic boutique hotel located in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood. Opened in 1946 and extensively renovated in 2023, the hotel blends mid-century glamour with modern luxury. Guests can enjoy 139 uniquely designed rooms, suites, and townhouses, each featuring rich textures and bold patterns inspired by Victorian, Tudor and Gothic styles.

The centerpiece is the iconic Weissmuller Pool, named after Olympic gold medalist Johnny Weissmuller, who designed it. On-site dining options include the 24-hour Beginner’s Diner, the mezcal-focused Quixote, and the upscale Le Horse steakhouse. Additional amenities encompass a fitness center, arcade bar, and live entertainment venues, offering a vibrant atmosphere for both relaxation and socializing.
Post Company is a Brooklyn-based design studio founded by Ruben Caldwell, Leigh Salem, and Jou-Yie Chou. The firm integrates architecture, interior design, carpentry and art direction to create immersive environments across hospitality, retail, and residential sectors. Their interdisciplinary approach emphasizes collaborative research and contextual appreciation, resulting in spaces that honor cultural and historical narratives.
Tucker Sadler Architects is a San Diego-based firm founded in 1957 by Tom Tucker, Hal Sadler, and Mary Sadler. With over six decades of experience, the firm specializes in architecture, planning, and development services for both public and private sectors. Notable projects include The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, Portside Pier, and the expansion of the San Diego Convention Center. Led by CEO and Principal Designer Greg Mueller, Tucker Sadler Architects is renowned for its innovative designs and commitment to sustainability.
