Tanya Smith-Shiflett’s clients wanted their home to have an old English feel. The wife had always dreamed of having a kitchen island but with a smaller space of 500 square feet, she never thought it was possible. The designer fulfilled that dream with a hefty, custom wood table that provides loads of functionality; all the wife’s knives and cutlery are housed in the drawers. But it is the deep green tile walls that provide the room’s showstopping moment, adding unmistakable old-world ambiance.
