Sublimation: Stabile 201
This month, Andrea Claire Studio launched a new series of sculptural lighting pieces. Inspired by the Japanese concept of Ma, the Sublimation collection of standing lamps, chandeliers, and sconces, looks to master the psychology of space with the union of lights and the sublime. Key to the Sublimation collection is a hand-blown sculptural glass shape called the “Oreb”. Orebs are available in 3 glass colors- Opal, Amber, and Mirrored- with an added gold or silver leaf base option.
Stabile 201 stands on 3 slim, pointed legs, referencing the Cartesian coordinate system. Draping down from the leg apex is a hand-knotted macramé twist encasing the electrical supply. Central to the piece is a 4” diameter plated metal sphere that contains a touch dimmer for (2) 4.5 watt LED bulbs. Sprouting vertically from the sphere is a 1⁄2” diameter central tubular spine. Mid-way on the spine is skewered a wood-textured hand-cast concrete “Orthotope”. The concrete Orthotope comes in 2 color options and can be customized. Branching off the central spine on bent tubular arms are 2 illuminated glass Orebs. At the very top of the Stabile 201 the central spine thins down to one single point.
This sculptural piece is full of personality, and it complements any style of decor or project type.
