Nameless by design, Hotel Sin Nombre offers a vision that transcends the conventional, inviting guests to “choose their own adventure” in the heart of Oaxaca. Conceived as a sanctuary where architecture, gastronomy and art intertwine to awaken the senses, it invites a deeper connection with the city’s essence.
“May your experience be your own creation,” the resort proclaims, “we simply provide the walls within which to rest, to create, to dance, or to sequester oneself away in secret nooks.”
Housed in a 17th-century colonial mansion, the hotel was reimagined by RootStudio as an architectural project infused with echoes of North Africa and Morocco, and enriched with works curated by photographer El Negro Ibañez in tribute to the Afro-Mexican culture of Oaxaca’s coast. Its interiors feature distinctive textiles by master artisan Rey David, crafted from wool and natural pigments from Teotitlán del Valle, while 500-thread-count cotton linens bring understated luxury to the experience of rest.
The space additionally houses Restaurant Sin Nombre, offering mouth-watering interpretations of authentic Oaxacan dishes fused with international cuisine between the arches of the central patio, or amongst the garden of the rooftop terrace, as well as a spa and a Bibliotekita. Located beneath the stairs of the central courtyard, this mysterious and extravagant installation was conceived to house a literary curation. The space’s intimate and peaceful atmosphere contrasts with the infinity effect of the mirrors bathed in red neon light.
More than a boutique hotel, Hotel Sin Nombre is conceived as a blank canvas for living, creating, or simply surrendering to the mystery of its corners.
