Top designer Jennifer Cohler Mason shared her most-coveted personal treasure with ASPIRE DESIGN AND HOME.
One item in my home that brings back wonderful memories is my vintage zebra-hide rug that belonged to my parents. The rug was in the living room of the Upper East Side townhouse I grew up in and now resides in my living room. My mother was a decorator strongly influenced by Billy Baldwin; she designed our living room in creams, taupes and browns, all anchored by the zebra rug. This rug has influenced me in the way I design; I always try to add a touch of zebra to my projects as a nod to my late mother and the great Billy Baldwin. The rug has been in my life for as long as I can remember and brings me much comfort and great memories when I enter my home at the end of each day.
