Every other year the Junior League of Detroit hand-selects a local estate and curates a phenomenal team of local and national interior designers to transform the home into a Designers’ Show House. This will be the Junior League of Detroit’s 23rd Designers’ Show House. To date, the fundraiser has raised nearly $5 million in support of local philanthropic efforts.

“We are thrilled to bring together an exciting mix of veteran and first-time designers for our 2020 Show House, which will no doubt lead to a fresh and stunning transformation,” said Aimee Argel, JLD president. “Thanks to the tireless efforts and dedication of our designers, the Junior League of Detroit is able time and again to produce one of the highest caliber show houses in the country. The 2020 Show House is shaping up to be one of our best yet, and we cannot wait for design enthusiasts from Detroit and beyond to experience it.”

At 16,000 square feet, the Bingley Fales House is the largest residence in the Indian Village neighborhood of Detroit, boasting 10 bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half baths. The Georgian-style mansion is set on two acres of land, which include formal flower gardens, hardscape pathways, a trellis covered lanai, a fountain, and a Pewabic tile-lined reflecting pool.

The 2020 Designers’ Show House will be open to the public Thursdays through Sundays, May 10 – June 7, with the Opening Night Gala on Saturday, May 9. Both Gala and public admission tickets to tour the 2020 Show House will be available for sale on the JLD’s website beginning February 14.

Funds raised from the 2020 Designers’ Show House will support the JLD’s local philanthropic efforts, including its key community impact initiative ‘Project EAT’ which helps create a more food secure community by providing Education, Access, and Tools to those in need. Through Project EAT, the League recently launched the Empowered Pantry, which provides over 25,000 annual meals, nutrition education, and cooking tools for employees of the Empowerment Plan. Future plans include the creation of additional pantries to serve food insecure families across metro Detroit.
