The JLD Designers’ Show House Gala Sold out Fête Puts the Fun in Fundraiser

The 22nd annual Designers’ Show House, proudly sponsored by ASPIRE DESIGN AND HOME magazine, opened to rave reviews at the September 13th Gala. Over 600 attendees gathered at the sold-out celebration to gain first glimpse of the stunning designer transformation at the Charles T. Fisher Mansion, owned by actor Hill Harper, renowned for his roles on CSI: NY, Homeland and The Good Doctor.

Hill Harper and his son Pierce

The celebrity’s four-year-old son, Pierce stole the show as they mingled amongst the exuberant crowd. Attendees were treated to an estate tour, live music, a live art installation by nationally renowned artist and Detroit native, Felle and a Chinese Auction with lavish donations from Ahee Jewelers, Infinity-Ovation Yacht Charters, Shinola Detroit and Ethan Allen. A strolling supper along with multiple food stations and top-shelf bars kept all sated and in high spirits!

The delicious cuisine, cocktails and conversation effervesced throughout the balmy late-summer night thanks to the great generosity of Food and Beverage Sponsors Atwater Beer, Cadillac Coffee, Detroit City Distillery, Great Lakes Wine & Spirits and Whistle Pig along with Gala Sponsors Shinola Detroit and Display Group and Event Sponsor, Design Core Detroit.

Below please enjoy just a smattering of party pics from a truly memorable “Moment in Time.” The ASPIRE DESIGN AND HOME family offers heartfelt gratitude to the Junior League of Detroit, Hill Harper and each shining artist, attendee, designer, devotee, sponsor, volunteer and star who made the 2018 JLD Designers’ Show House and its Gala possible. Proceeds from the evening support various community programs and grants, including recent initiatives such as Project EAT (Education, Access and Tools) which equips kitchens to be fully functional so families can cook and eat together at home; and projects in connection with other social service organizations such as Forgotten Harvest, Cass Community Services and the Empowerment Plan.
