Leading national developers The Moinian Group announced today that Noah Syndergaard, the 2018 Opening Day pitcher for the New York Mets, has moved into Midtown West’s Sky, the largest rental building in the country. Syndergaard, nicknamed “Thor,” made his debut for the Mets in 2015 and was named to the National League All-Star team in 2016.
“Sky is without a doubt the absolute best residence for a professional athlete in New York City. With extravagant hotel-like amenities and ultra-luxe privacy, Sky provides a unique combination that remains unmatched,” said Mitchell Moinian, Senior Vice President of The Moinian Group. “During development, we sought to create a tower with high-end offerings that would complement the busy schedules of our residents. Our continued appeal to celebrities and athletes is a reflection of that very notion.”
With interiors by the Rockwell Group, Syndergaard’s expansive corner, two-bedroom, two-bath home boasts a spacious living room with sweeping views of the Hudson River.
“Between all of the amenities, the great concierge, and the amazing views of the city, Sky is an incredible place to call home,” said Noah Syndergaard. “With the expansive world-class gym, complete with an organic café, I only have to leave the building for Mets games. I love it!”
Syndergaard, known to fans as Thor, is the latest athlete to live at Sky. Past residents include Mets teammate AJ Ramos, and Kristaps Porzingis of the New York Knicks. Musical sensation Fergie also stayed at Sky this past year.
“Sky was designed to be a residential oasis amidst the hectic New York lifestyle. It is our hope that the space will provide a serene environment for Noah when he is off the field,” said Natasha Vardi, SVP of Residential Properties at Moinian Group.
With homes ranging from studio to two-bedrooms, the lavish 71-story tower is located right at the heart of Manhattan’s most exciting neighborhoods, Hell’s Kitchen and Midtown West. At the forefront of luxury living, Sky features a myriad of art installations by the celebrated Yayoi Kusama, alongside impressive amenities, including a full-service spa and Carmelo Anthony-designed basketball court. Residents also have access to Life Time Atheltic at Sky featuring an expansive outdoor terrace, and Skydeck with two zero-edge outdoor pools. Additional building amenities include water club with Turkish style hammam, indoor and outdoor pool, and the Thomas Balsley-designed Park.
