Jordan collaborated with designer Paul Wiseman, a California native, on the earthy Suri Zibelinado Chatoyant fabric.
Sandra Jordan Prima Alpaca, the only luxury line of alpaca home textiles, has just launched a new collection called “Sonoma Coast.” Sandra Jordan’s collection features 13 gentle-toned, texture-based designs, each inspired by the founder’s home in a corner of Northern California.
“The Sonoma Coast collection developed naturally because of being at home this past year,” Jordan said. “Staying local allowed me time to take in all that Sonoma County has to offer and to spend time outdoors.”

Prima Alpaca Midnight Sky reimagines a starry night above the California countryside. This two-sided fabric features midnight blue on one side and shimmering, black ebony on the other.
Sonoma County skirts the Pacific Ocean in cloudy beaches and rolling hills of pine trees and vineyards. This diverse ecology inspired everything from Chaparral, a thin textile in various tints of greens, to the airy, aptly-named Pure White Bouclé Opaque Sheer, to Camino Azul, a patterned fabric alluding to highland roads. Each design, transferable to upholstery, window treatments, draperies, and more, is grounded in texture with a subtle backdrop in color.
“I love vibrant color, but Northern California is also about texture,” Jordan said. “The palette for this collection became subtle and earthy. Natural textures really spoke to me this time.”

The Sonoma Coast collection materializes the variety of colors and textures seen across the county in soft, smooth fabrics. Prima Alpaca is highly durable and resistant to breakage and fading.
Jordan’s environmental inspiration is not limited to Sonoma County. Her namesake company traces to traditional artistry in her birthplace, Peru, where alpaca hair provides significant material for textiles and clothing. Prima Alpaca fiber consists of the first shearing of a baby alpaca. This hair, water-resistant, hypoallergenic, and magnificently soft, is a luxury material that, as of now, is hardly tapped. Currently, Jordan heads the only line of Prima Alpaca textiles, including upholstery, draperies, and throw blankets.
“Sonoma Coast” is Sandra Jordan Prima Alpaca’s second collection, after “Harvest,” a vivid collection inspired by Californian vineyards.
