Soho Home’s New Collection Brings Global Influences Together In One Place

Soho Houses, a group of private members’ clubs across Europe, North America and Asia, are designed especially for the regions they are located in. In-house architects and interior designers take inspiration from the surrounding area’s culture, creatives and the building’s heritage, commissioning statement pieces that are bespoke to each House. With their newest collection, Soho Home draws from these signature pieces and design details that bring a space to life. Created by the Soho Home Design team, the newest collection includes furniture, tableware, lighting, textiles, and home fragrance. Taking cues from Rome, Nashville, Shoreditch, Mumbai and 180 House, the eclectic collection brings new ways of creating the Soho House style of living to your home.

“Our overarching focus in this new collection was to explore artisanal processes and materiality,” says James Patmore, design manager of Soho Home. “We layered in statement pieces and hand-painted patterns, as well as building on our core member favorites of statement armchairs, Italian marbles, and new textiles.”

Hero shapes include the Loretta bed, Soho Home’s statement four-poster piece. With a velvet headboard and brass canopy overhead, it references vintage design and mirrors the beds found in Soho House Rome.

Statement chairs form a key part of the new collection— with confident shapes that create a focal point, they are used in the Houses to break up open-plan spaces and are designed to be as beautiful as they are useful. Crafted from soft Italian boucle, the retro-inspired Rolland chair is a nod to the styles seen in Soho House Rome. It has a raked back and a swivel base that gives a playful touch and enables the chair to be viewed from different angles. The Clyde tub chair takes its cues from the 1970s-inspired seating seen throughout London’s 180 House. Upholstered in soft velvet fabric for a smooth effect, it has a curved back with a rounded seat, and cut-through detail on the front and back, creating a snug feel. Its versatile shape means it’s suitable for casual dining, cozy lounging, or tucking under a dressing table. The best-selling Garrett chair has also been reimagined in a linear geometric print, designed in-house.

Home fragrance offerings include new vessels in glazed earthenware, marble, and glass, created purposefully to be reused as candleholders, plant containers or storage pots for trinkets. The new collection includes the Ardmore, which is inspired by Shoreditch House. This angular contemporary design of the Ardmore is handmade with colored waxes to match the vessel. The Ardmore candle comes in six different colorways and an array of scents, including Leather & Oud, Fireside, Blackcurrant & Cedar, Sicilian Thyme, and Patchouli.

Abstract print designs from 180 House and the artisanal influence in Soho House Mumbai are reflected in the new collection’s textiles. Hero items include the Aanya Long Oblong linen cushion. Using a jacquard machine, the cushion features a geometric design created by our in-house team and has been brought to life by artisans in India. The Helford Square cushion uses a hand-painted design, which has been digitally printed onto the fabric. The design draws inspiration from the decorative accents and architecture seen throughout Soho House Mumbai. Rugs are used in the Houses to add layers and complete spaces. In this collection, particular reference has been taken from colors of the surrounding countryside at Soho Farmhouse and Babington House, such as in the Almora rug and Basri rug.

In addition to the new collection, the brand also opened Soho House Nashville this week. Formally a sock factory, the 47-bedroom home is located in the art hub of Wedgewood-Houston, with design inspired by Nashville’s musical heritage.
