Janet Freedman, a designer in Fairfield County, shares the best and brightest ideas offered by this legendary company known for world-class customer service.
Gwen Donovan: What are some of the creative ways you reach your current and potential customers?
Janet Freedman: We share lots of eye-catching photos, design inspirations and even some behind-the-scenes peeks of our projects on Instagram, where we highlight our before and after designs. We love to show how we can bring practical magic to everyone’s home through organization. We also attend events and trade shows to network with others in the industry, and we build a lot of business from client referrals, their friends and fellow professionals. Overall, it is all about being authentic and finding ways to connect and engage with people.
GD: How do you design a project to fit both the customer’s needs and their budget?
JF: First, I always start with a good conversation. I really want to understand what the client is looking for, their must-haves, and what they need. Sometimes, the client does not know and that is where my expertise takes over. It is so important to ask questions, listen, observe and create. Once I have that info, I already start thinking of creative solutions that align with their budget. I like to present options and different paths we can take that still meet their goals without breaking the bank.
GD: Describe the ways your storage solution projects come together.
JF: Really, it’s all about creating a seamless experience from start to finish. We listen to our clients’ ideas and challenges, which helps us figure out the best solutions using our wide range of products. We custom design for each project using a 3-D CAD program which enables the client to view their actual design. With California Closets’ high-quality materials and stylish finishes, we can bring those designs to life in a way that is not just functional but also beautiful.
GD: What’s one of the main things your clients really appreciate about California Closets?
JF: Our clients appreciate our professional installation. It takes all the guesswork out of the equation, which is a huge relief for many people. Installing a new storage solution can feel overwhelming, especially when you are trying to figure out all the measurements and configurations on your own. But with our team handling everything, clients can sit back and relax, knowing they are in good hands. Clients also love that it saves them time and hassle.
